result
Objectives met, and two extra assignments entrusted to me during the internship.
Automated tests in place in the delivery pipeline, and real data anomalies found.
The challenge
Critical software, used day and night to manage train movements across the whole network, and changing with every release. The team wanted stronger checks so it could ship without risking regressions.
What I brought
understanding the business
With the business experts, I defined for each function what a good result means, edge cases included.
automating the checks
I built automated tests, reviewed by my supervisor and added to the team's delivery pipeline.
analysing the data
I analysed data in Python, Excel and SQL, defined and tracked KPIs, compared several environments, then reported the gaps that mattered to the team.
What it says about how I work
- I get to grips with a complex business quickly, and I ask the right questions of the right people.
- I find my place in an agile team, at the pace of its sprints.
- I turn a quality requirement into concrete checks that run automatically.
The system's details are confidential: I walk through the approach in an interview, within those limits.
Looking for an analyst who understands the business and delivers? I would be glad to talk.
